It was not until I moved to Texas that I discovered the wonderful salty-sweetness of salting my watermelon...my mother introduced me to it at a family Texas BBQ and I just about devoured the entire thing...salting...eating...salting...eating. Im hooked...now I can't have it any other way. Some people say it brings out the sweetness in it but I just love it for its salty-ness!
Im from out West and discovered this about 3 years ago. Is it a Southern thing? A Texas thing or maybe just a preference I had not heard of before...who knows? BUT I like it! :)
